Nobody should have to remember whose turn it is to host. So this counts it.
Type your members once. Every time you add a meeting with a host’s name, the Members tab updates that person’s hosting count on its own. Sort by it and the next host is at the top — no arguments, and no situation where two people have hosted most of the year while everyone politely says nothing.
WHAT YOU TYPE
- Your members’ names.
- Nominated books as people suggest them.
- A meeting row when the club picks one: date, book, who is hosting.
Everything else counts itself.
WHAT IS INSIDE
- Meetings — 60 rows. Date, book, author, host, where, discussion lead and pages. Days away and a Done / Passed / Upcoming status work themselves out, and the sheet suggests your next date from how often you meet.
- Members — 30 rows. Names and contacts you type; times hosted and times led counted straight out of the meeting calendar, kept separate because hosting is providing the room and leading is having done the reading.
- Book Picks — 50 rows. Every nomination with its votes, its status, its club rating out of 5, and a column that checks whether it already has a date on the calendar. Long shortlists are where clubs lose track of what they already agreed to read.
- Read Me First — books finished, meetings still to come, active members, how many nominations have no date yet, and the club’s average rating.
NOT A READING TRACKER This is a club’s admin, not one person’s reading log. It answers who is hosting, what was voted for, and who has not turned up since March.
WORKS IN BOTH Excel and Google Sheets — and for a club, Sheets is better. Drag it into Google Drive, share the link, and everyone sees the same calendar instead of scrolling a group chat looking for a date.
PICKING BOOKS WITHOUT AN ARGUMENT Collect nominations all month, vote once, sort by the Votes column. A club that decides by discussion at the end of a meeting reads whatever the loudest person read last. Ten seconds of voting removes that, and the person whose pick lost can see it was close.
WHY THE GREY CELLS ARE LOCKED Every calculated cell is protected, because the fastest way to break a shared file is for one member to overwrite a formula and nobody to notice. Type in the yellow cells. No password is set — you can unlock any sheet if you want to.

Questions
How do I get the file?
It is an instant download. Checkout happens on Etsy, and the download link is on the confirmation page and in your emailed receipt. Nothing ships; there is nothing to wait for.
What do I need to open it?
Open it in Excel, or upload to Google Drive and choose Open with Google Sheets. No Microsoft subscription needed.
Can I change it to suit my business?
Yes. Categories, names and labels are yours to rename, and the totals follow automatically. The calculated cells are the protected ones, so you can edit freely without knocking a formula out.
Can I use this for client or business work?
Yes — use it in your own business or personal projects as much as you like. The one thing you cannot do is resell or redistribute the file itself.
What if it isn't right for me?
Refunds are handled by Etsy under their own buyer policy for digital downloads — request one through your order there and it goes through their process, not ours.
