Squarespace vs GablePath

Squarespace is a self-service website builder. This page sets the two offers next to each other using only what each company publishes — every Squarespace cell links to their own page. Where they publish nothing, the cell says so instead of guessing.

A Squarespace alternative is not automatically an upgrade.

There are businesses for which Squarespace is the right answer and we are not. Here is where the line falls.

01

Stay with Squarespace if

Stay with Squarespace if the templates suit you and you are keeping the site current. It is a good product, the design floor is high, and a photographer, restaurant or studio that updates its own pages is well served by it.

Stay if you are selling online through it. Moving a working store to save a monthly fee is a large amount of risk for a small amount of money, and we do not build stores.

02

Switch if

Switch when the site stopped being maintained. A template holds a design together; it does not decide what a plumber's homepage should say to someone standing in a flooded basement. That decision, and the edits afterwards, is what a service relationship is for.

Switch if you would rather send a text change than make one. Ours are unlimited and live by the end of the next business day when you send by 4:00 p.m. ET, or that month is free — and you still keep the site: a complete static export whenever you leave, with no minimum term.

Nothing gets cancelled until the new site is standing.

A switch starts with an inventory of what you own and what you can export — domain, hosting, email, forms, analytics, listings, advertising accounts. Your Squarespace site stays live the whole time. We build the replacement separately, test the forms and the redirects, and tell you in writing when it is safe to cancel. Never before.

The step-by-step version is on the switching page. The first step costs nothing: ask for your free homepage and look at it with your current site still running.

Moving from Squarespace, answered.

01Why would I pay $149 when a builder is a fraction of that?

Because the fee is not the only cost. If nobody at your company has time to write and maintain the pages, the cheap site is the one that quietly costs you calls.

02Do you work in Squarespace?

No. We build fast static sites and hand you the export, so nothing keeps you locked in.

03Can I see what you would do differently?

Yes — that is the offer. Your real homepage on a private, unindexed link within two business days, free, and your current site is untouched.
