The form on this site
The project enquiry, free-homepage and Microsoft 365 exposure-check forms collect the information you type into them:
- All forms: business name and email address are required; your current website is optional. The free-homepage and Microsoft 365 forms also require a phone number.
- Project enquiries: a short project description is required and a phone number is optional. You can optionally tell us how you heard about GablePath. The form also records which service you enquired about so we can respond appropriately.
If the page link includes campaign labels (utm_source, utm_medium or utm_campaign), those labels are included with your submission. We use them to understand where enquiries come from. We do not store them in cookies or track you between pages.
Along with what you type, the request itself carries some technical detail and we store it: the date and time, your IP address, the country Cloudflare reports for that address, your browser’s user-agent string, and which of our hostnames you submitted from. That is there so we can tell a real enquiry from a flood of spam, and it is the same information any web server sees.
Please do not send sensitive information through this form. It is a sales enquiry form. Do not use it for patient information, client confidences, medical details, card numbers, passwords or account credentials — not to us and not to anyone. If you need to send us something sensitive later in a project, we will agree a proper channel for it first.
What we do with it
- We read it and reply, from hello@gablepath.com.
- We use what you told us to assess your project or prepare the homepage preview or exposure check you requested.
- We keep it in our own records so we know who we have spoken to.
That is the whole list. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your details with anyone for their own marketing, and we do not add you to a newsletter you did not ask for.
Where it goes
The form posts to a small program running on Cloudflare, which serves and protects this website. The submission is stored in Cloudflare’s key-value storage in our account, and a job on our own machine reads new submissions, writes them into our private notes, and sends a short alert to Mark’s phone so nothing sits unanswered. Our email is hosted at Zoho. Cloudflare and Zoho process this information for the enquiry. Apple’s iMessage service handles alerts to Mark; a phone carrier may also handle message delivery.
What else loads on these pages
- Cloudflare Turnstile — the “I am human” check on the form. It loads a script from challenges.cloudflare.com and tells us whether a submission looks automated. It exists so the form is not filled by bots; it is not tracking you around the web.
- Cloudflare analytics — a small measurement beacon from static.cloudflareinsights.com, added by Cloudflare to sites on its network. It records page views and page-load timing at an aggregate level: which page, roughly where in the world, which browser, how fast it loaded. We use it to see whether the site is fast and which pages people read. It does not identify you and we cannot use it to look you up.
- Our typefaces — the typefaces this site is set in are served from our own domain, as files under gablepath.com/fonts/. Your browser makes no third-party request to fetch them, and no font provider receives your IP address.
Cookies. We do not set a cookie of our own — no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no tracking pixel, no ad network, and no data broker. Cloudflare may set its own cookies for security and bot detection while it is protecting the site.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry for as long as it is reasonable that we might still be talking to you about it, and our accounting records for as long as tax law requires. If you ask us to delete your enquiry, we will, within 30 days, and we will confirm when it is done — except for anything we are legally obliged to keep. You do not have to give a reason and it does not matter whether you ever became a client.
Asking us anything about your data
Email hello@gablepath.com and say what you want: a copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. One person reads that mailbox and will answer you directly. Depending on where you live you may have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR; we will honor those requests whether or not a particular law applies to you, because the honest answer to “what do you have on me” is a short one and we would rather just give it.
If you become a client
Different rules apply to work we do for you, and they are written down: §8 of our agreement covers confidentiality, how we handle any credentials you give us — kept in a password manager, never shared outside GablePath, deleted within 30 days of the end of the work — and the fact that submissions to your site’s contact form belong to you and are not used by us for anything else.
Changes to this page
If we change what the site collects, we change this page in the same edit, and the version date at the top moves. There is no archive of old versions yet; when there is, it will be linked from here.
Something here not match what the site does? Tell us — hello@gablepath.com. A privacy policy that describes a different website than the one you are on is worse than none.
